This majestic bald eagle was perched in a dead cottonwood tree fishing above the Eagle River in western Colorado and stayed there for a while as I kept my distance and was able to get a few different poses.

nice series of shots of a beautiful bird. one of the nice things about perched bald eagles is that in many cases they will sit long enough that you can get many pictures. thanks for sharing.

Thank you Wendall, I appreciate the nice feedback! This eagle was very patient and stayed in the tree perched there for several minutes. In the past, I've observed them here swooping down and taking a trout from the water below. Just need to capture that but it usually happens so quickly that I miss the shot!
