Several mornings back I went out back and saw this Merlin enjoying a tasty breakfast on top of the utility pole. My guess is that Mocking Bird was on the menu. As usual, I didn't get any shots of him taking off, as he was careful to make sure I had momentarily taken my finger off the shutter button, and then took off like a jet fighter. Oh well.....

I saw a mockingbird this morning land on my roof, it looked like mole-cricket was on the menu. (hopefully not from my lawn!) Even worse than your finger off the shutter button, my whole camera was still inside the house
Thanks, Eric.
I can be pretty sure that when I go outside without my camera, I will see something I want a shot of, which of course disappears if I go get my camera.
Right now, I'm preoccupied with tending to our pup, Ollie who got the 'family jewels' removed yesterday morning. Boston Terriers are hyper little guys and we have to keep him from running or jumping for the next 10 days -- a tall order!
