The photos were taken right before a final inspection and packing, so it will not be used further.
This CLE received a CLA at Fujiya in 2025, but below is what I personally inspected (tried to mention everything but might have missed some stuff) and checked. I shot a few rolls, developed, and checked exposures. Very reliable camera.
Exterior:
-Overall great with some faint scuffs and signs of use and handling
-2mm leatherette mild fold lift under front viewfinder center
-Bayonet mount normal wear and mark above the 2PM screw
-Some marks on right side hinge area
-Some small scratches near -2EV EC
-Lettering in great shape
-Hotshoe pins are clean (did not test flash)
Interior:
-Shutter and patterns in excellent condition
-Light trap excellent condition
-Film area clean, light seals and sprockets excellent
-No corrosion or etching at battery terminals
-Cable release socket clean (did not test function)
Buttons, Lever, Switch, and Dials:
-Lens Bayonet release button functions properly. Lock springs engage properly.
-Battery door slides open and closes smoothly. Clicks and locks properly.
-Battery check button functions properly, red light illuminates brightly.
-Film rewind button locks and releases properly.
-Film rewind lever and hinge release switch work properly.
-Film door latches and locks properly.
-Film advance lever ratchets smoothly with no overextension and proper rebound (film was not advanced and lever decocked when not being used per manual instructions)
-Film exposure count indicator displays accurately (got 39 exposures on HP5+ each time)
-ON, OFF, TIMER switches smoothly and detents clicky. Unlock slide snaps back properly.
-TIMER setting functions properly. Red light is bright and duration indicator cadence perfect.
-The shutter touch switch functions perfectly. The shutter release functions perfectly.
-Exposure compensation unlock push button functions properly.
-Shutter speed dial moves smooth and all positions accurate detents.
Light Meter:
-Light meter is precise. There is no hopping or skipping of the metering display lights in the viewfinder.
-Light meter display lights accurate, properly displays intermediate metering double lights as well.
-Light meter readjusts quickly to new scene metering (NOTE: AE mode must be on for metering to work, so meter first then set to manual SS).
-Exposure compensation +/- all accurate.
Shutter:
-All shutter speeds accurate.
-Bulb functions properly.
-ASA/ISO perimeter dial spring lifts up and snaps back well. Reading dial is smooth.
Viewfinder/RF:
-Rangefinder is accurate and perfectly aligned (tested with 28 1.5, 35 1.5, 40 2.0, 50 1.4)
-Viewfinder is clean and bright. No haze, separation, or contrast loss areas. Some dusts, does not affect function. Mild smudges on very corners, does not affect function.
-Viewfinder glass clean on both sides, rangefinder window clean, frameline illumination glass clean.
-Framelines display accurately, evenly, and bright.
Includes camera, ergo grip in photos, and new spare silver oxide batteries (also new ones in the camera already).
