p.1 #1 · Advice/Suggestions on new PC Laptop for LR & PS postprocessing
I'm in the market for a new PC based laptop and could use advice from a more hardware savvy person before I buy. I'd like to stay in the $2500-3000usd range, but could go up to $3500 max for the right laptop with longevity in mind. This will be for photo processing primarily with very occasion light video processing. I won't be using it for gaming. No time for that anyway.
Please suggest any make and builds to consider.
A 16" (or larger) color accurate display is required (I have monitor calibration HW/SW)
One that is at the very top end of my spending limit (is this too much or good for future proofing?):
$3250 USD before sales tax
Dell 16 Premium Laptop

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5060, 8GB GDDR7, 45W
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070, 8GB GDDR7, 55W

Yes, in this case I'm only looking for a laptop. I do a lot of remote work and bouncing around between locations where I need to be able to edit in places other than my studio space, including my home. I already have a suitable desktop computer at my studio space.

Get the mobile 5070. I have a T&L (1.1kg) laptop with the 255H and the ARC 140T iGPU is the limiting factor for AI NR and similar. The CPU is plenty for most purposes, and especially if you have a desktop at home. I only buy laptops with 2 M.2 slots (up to 16TB), but you probably don't need it. Nowadays SSDs are stupid expensive.

Thanks for the reply.
Thank you for your input.
I'm leaning towards a 5070 Ti at this point because of the 12GB, Intel Ultra 9 Series 2, 2TB SSD, 32gb RAM (I may increase)

I suggest getting a factory extended warranty on such an expensive laptop. If some component or the mainboard itself fails I don't know if the CPU can be removed.
