Just putting this FYI out there, I was set to review this tripod and after receiving it was so concerned about the build quality and safety of my camera that I refused the review and sent it back to Freewell along with my detailed concerns.
This is a special order item at some retailers like B&H (meaning they drop ship from China) and you cannot return or refund it, so it's important to know that you're not getting close to your $300 worth.
I usually don't look at video reviews until I post my own, but since I'm not doing it, I was shocked to see basically everyone on YouTube gloss over the head issues, all while watching their cameras bob back and forth on the tripod.

As usual, I don't miss. What an illuminating admission from one of the bigger names in the YT review space...be careful whose opinions you give weight.

Why three turns? My Markins Q20i has only about 1.5 turns altogether and is designed to open in about one turn. It is stated to hold 50kg (probably somewhat less), is super solid and no problem to carry an old-school 600/4 with a big pro body over the shoulder. Nothing ever got loose or fell off. It's held up better over the years than the BH-55 that I use mostly for landscapes.
I think the number of turns is not the issue, but the design and materials are. I would not be trusting any no-name tripod with $15-20K of gear over my shoulders.
