Of course not. I responded to the idea to use a fixed WB in camera, which has exactly the same issues as batch-setting it in post.
But it does - it gives you the same starting point for every photo, while auto-WB will vary.
Of course this doesn't change your point about batch-setting in post, but we're already knee-deep discussing WB in RAWs .

I was a "always daylight WB, then edit WB to taste in post" guy.
Until I got the A7RV.
Its auto WB is simply so good that I now always use that. Makes editing and getting a realistic and tasteful WB so much easier.

This for me but with Nikon Z cameras, far, FAR more accurate than the A7 line before the RV, to the point that Auto 2 is what I live in for RAW shooting with fantastic, very predictable results.
I’m wondering if you see any benefits to upgrading from the A7IV to the A7RV or A7V, particularly in terms of post-processing time — especially for skin tone corrections. I know some cameras render skin tones as more magenta or greenish…
Has anyone compared them directly?
Thank you.
According to Sony they improved the AWB system of the A7V from the A7IV, please check link
It says, "The a7V offers more accurate, stable white balance in settings that can be challenging for conventional AWB systems such as those that include a mix of skin tones, vegetations shade and more."
Ok I didn't take their word for it because that is exactly the scenario I have: skin tones, vegetation and shade :-) In the past I've used expodisc when the subject is under the tree, the green leaves 'contaminate' the skin tones making it greener. I don't have to do that anymore in 2026.
A7V AWB with Sigma 28-105/2.8 DG DN Art
These are just the starting points, I haven't done any post processing yet.
Ditto here but also used the Godox V100s on camera
