I few weeks back I checked out a new (to me) spot along one of the nearby rivers. The ice had thawed a bit and the bald eagles that had been all congregating farther downstream at some falls had migrated up to where I was. It's been extremely cold since I took these so I'm not sure how things are looking now, but hoping to get back out there soon. I was lucky with some nice light during the first outing as the sun was setting, and then had very flat overcast light the second time out as a snow storm passed through.
It's exciting to see eagles. Your best photo here is the third with the one of it going for a fish interesting yet too far and the falls in the corner would have made a great background had you captured the eagle in front of them.

Thanks Morris. I have a few others with the eagles in front of the dam but as you noted they tended to be farther away. I’ll take a look through and see if there are any with the eagles filling more of the frame with the water flowing over the dam in the background.
nice pictures of a majestic bird. my favorite place to get eagle pictures will be opening up next week. it has been closed for the last 3 months due to waterfowl hunting. i always look forward to it opening back up. thanks for sharing your pictures.

Nice set, 4 has a lot of things going for it, as was said a little closer would be cool, but perhaps a slightly wider aspect ratio like 16:9 or 10 with the action cropped so eagle dive is more to the left would make for a nice environmental shot too. Either way, congrats on your encounter and nice images.
