Has anyone here tried a Lumix S1IIE? I'd love to see some opinions (even if you haven't used one).

...crickets...

@Rainbow Chaser did you make any progress? I've been L-mount curious but accurate in-depth comparisons on Lumix equipment are sparse. The S1IIE seems to just be the "economy" version of the S1II using an older, non-stacked sensor. In Sony terms, I'm equating the S1II to the a7 V and the S1IIE to the a7 IV. You're getting more speed and a black-out free viewfinder due to the partially stacked sensor on the S1II similar to the Sony a7 V. The S1II sensor read out speed opens up more slo-mo video capabilities too. The S1IIE seems like a good deal if you're purely doing stills and not shooting fast action. The S1II seems easily worth the 20% higher price given the 100% speed boost.

Despite significant size and 100g weight reductions from the Lumix S1, the gen two cameras are still 100g heavier than the comparable Sony bodies. The L-mount lenses I'd be using are heavier still making the carry weight 300-600g heavier with a 70-200 lens. The weight issue continues to be a blocker for me.

I'm still considering. I like the JPEG colors I'm seeing on the web. As far as I know, it comes with their best black and white processing.

By the way, your Instagram link goes to a Washington think tank.
