I for one would love to see this camera this year. However, it seems increasingly unlikely. Yes, there is some overlap with the Z8, but I'd love to see a smaller camera that is photography centric with updated features like higher DR, Pixel Shift, and an updated AF algorithm. A higher MP camera would be nice too, but I'd be content with this camera and a 45 or 61mp sensor.
I think so. I wonder if it will come out right after the Z8ii, when adding Expeed 7 to it won't compromise Z8 sales. Add some stills based special items, perhaps the 61mp sensor and I think they'd have a winner.
Either a 45 or heaven forbid a 60mp camera with updated autofocus in the regular form factor body (smaller than Z8?), it will unlock a deluge of orders.
I’d buy it tomorrow. Z7ii sensor, Expeed 7, the Z5ii or Z6iii EVF, the Z8/Z9 rear LCD…that’s a landscape camera that will last you a decade. It would be akin to the D850 being the no compromise send off of a generation.
If it’s the 61mp sensor, I’d have to see how they implement it.

I would also be totally on board for the current 45mp sensor. It has fantastic image quality. Just add in the newer features that are missing on the Z7ii. Not every camera has to break the mold.
I'm getting ready to get a Z7ll as a Z9 companion landscape/macro/wildlife/birds-in-a-pinch body. I'll put a grip on it as soon as it breaks the plane of my door...can't do small bodies...yecchhh blecchhh! So...yeah...Z7lll would be great for the 7ll price!
