Hello
I wonder if the Pergear CF Express A cards (the Standard version) are reliable and fast enough for photography with Sony cameras like the A7RV?
I mean is there a history of ''dead on arrival'' cases with these cards for example or they get corrupter after a couple of months/years?
I've used used them on multiple trips over the past year with my Sony A1. I usually shoot on continuous low or medium, so 10-15 fps on a 50MP sensor for several second bursts and haven't had any issues with the cards.
I have used the Pergear standard 512GB in a7Rv since July 2024. Works great, plenty of speed for the Rv. I've never run out of buffer on the Rv, I mostly shoot in medium drive large lossless, but for sports I switch to Hi+ on compressed to get 10fps. If you had an a1 or a9iii I think I would go with a faster CFE. On the large lossless files 512GB is enough to store 5100+ photos.
I usually shoot this card in both slots on simultaneous write, pull slot 1 for downloads then format in camera. I leave slot 2 in the camera for a backup and only format when needed. This last weekend was the first time I filled a card on a shoot, no issues, formatted card slot 2 and continued no worry about a single copy of the photos, 5100+ on first and rest on second.
I am using Pergear standard 512GB with A1ii shooting birds with no problem. Just a few thousand shots but so far so good ( pre-capture, burst fly shots etc ).
I use Prograds, Delkins black, and OWC in the a7rV. That camera is slow, so the card is not limiting. You can get 10FPS MS compressed nearly continuously. If photos are critical you should mirror to both slots.
