I am not familiar with Sigma lens models. Does anyone know what the difference between these two lenses is? DN vs non-DN. B&H shows the non-DN as a new item. Same thing for the 24mm 3.5 version. I did some searching but didn't find anything, maybe I didn't look hard enough. Thanks.
It's just a name change. They used DG DN to differentiate from DSLR DG HSM lenses. DN meant made for mirrorless from the ground up. Now that's pretty much all their new lenses, so they are dropping the DN from the name.
I think the first "i" series DG DN was the 45mm f/2.8. It didn't come with the magnetic cap. I think the magnetic cap started with the next "i" series DG DN (maybe the 65i?). So I think the 45mm f/2.8 DG is designed to allow for the magnetic cap.
This is purely from memory, triggered by your comment. So I could be wrong.

Wasn‘t there a difference concerning a magnetic lens cap for the non-DN version?
(At least for some lenses?)
Yes, since both versions of the 45mm lens are on the market, and I recently wanted to buy one, I noticed it for this specific lens.
I did not know if it was a more general differentiator for DN versus non-DN lenses.
