p.1 #1 · Changing subject detection on button press - A7RV

Hi.

I have Googled, and am stuck. I have a custom mode set up to capture people, human detection focus on eyes. Very standard. I’d like to be able to tap a button and have the only change being that subject detection changes to animals. When out and about I like to shoot pictures of dogs, for a long term project, but it’s random I don’t go out just looking for dogs.

Can I do this? I cannot find the option to change the subject recognition. I cannot turn it on and off entirely but not change the type.

I’m very new to Sony, the menus are complex, I’ve read the manual. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Possibly use the menu facility. It may have an option for Capture type which you can map onto one of the ten options on the menu?

I use it for anything I need a lot, like Stabilisation when lens does not provide it.

So I set the target select just to animals, set that to a button, and that will tell change it to that new set? I’ll try that thanks

Set your custom button to: Focus > Subject Recognition > Recog. Target Select

Then find the setting (probably in Focus > Subject Recognition > ? to only enable humans and dogs.
