p.1 #1 · How do you organize your camera gear and accessories?

I need some ideas of great solutions for organizing all my camera gear and accessories. I currently have two cameras (f-mount and Z-mount) and 8 lenses, several godox flashes and a lot of accessories and cables etc. and I want to add third camera.
I currently have it in two big bags and one shoulder bag and some of the stuff is in available drawers or shelfs but I imagine that there's better way.
Do you keep f-mount stuff separate from Z-mount stuff?

I can't speak to F- vs. Z-mount, as I only have F-mount, but I keep all my frequently used lenses in individual lens-cases which fit nicely into my "dry cabinet" (actually just a wooden cabinet in a dry room, along with some large silica-gel packs). I also have two of Nikon's large aluminum Compartment Cases (many to be found on eBay), which have a nice nearly-airtight seal and are great for storing my bodies, close-up equipment, etc. If you are looking for one of these cases, don't pay collector's prices as they DO turn up pretty cheap now and then, and make sure it comes with the key as these are usually missing and are REALLY hard to find separately. The compartment cases sit on top of the cabinet, or on the floor if I'm accessing their contents. I also have a "go bag" camera backpack with my Df and a couple of lenses (and a silica-gel pack in that as well).

My strategy for organizing my gear is to sell the gear I'm using the least when I reach the point of having enough gear to require organizing

In drawers or closets. I keep extra batteries close to the cameras and general accessories, like cards and straps close to the door. The confusion starts because I can use different lenses via adapters on multiple cameras, so I keep the adapters close to the cameras, but the lenses aren’t lined up logically most of the time.

I don’t like bags, so only pack them based on what I need to take when I really need to use a bag.

Drawers. 5-drawer metal Sears tool chest, 2-drawer short file cabinet, and a big 2-drawer lateral file cabinet. If I lived in a humid climate, I'd have dry cabinets. I do live in an earthquake zone, so open shelves and cabinets where the doors could open and spill out the contents are a no-go. Pelican-type cases and soft bags needed for transporting gear sit empty nearby.

Mainly in separate bags when at home.
An old 1980’s Lowepro shoulder bag holds my D5 and f mount primes.
A small Thinktank shoulder bag holds my travel kit (Z50 with kit lenses and a prime).
A small Lowepro backpack holds my landscape and macro kit (Z8, 24-120, 14-30 and 105. 2.8).
A larger Lowepro backpack holds a Z9 and 180-600 for birds.
This allows for grab and go depending on the need or mood.
A Thinktank Airport roller holds extra lenses like 70-200e, 24-70g, z50 1.8s, fisheye, etc.
Long sports lenses sit in their cases.

When I need to cover a specific event I will move gear between the cases to use the setup needed.

I like leaving them out on shelves next to my desk. Probably not the best for not gathering dust, but there's something about seeing all my gear arranged out in the open that reminds me to go shooting.

Dry cabinet for me. Each level is by function, to a degree...top is film, next is Z, next is medium format, bottom is the big teles and primes. Makes it easy to keep everything clean and looks cool in the office.

"How do you organize your camera gear and accessories?"

I don't. It's a mess. Cameras and lenses all over the place, on my desk, in camera bags, in my dry cabinet. Accessories in different drawers where I have forgotten what is where. I really do need to sort things out but....

I try to be modular so I know that one bag is for stills, the next is for video, audio equipment, stingers/power strips, etc. That way when I am tired or stressed, I don't have to think as much.

Think Tank Airport Security V3 for all my most used stills equipment; 2 bodies (z9 and Z6iii), 24-70 2.8, 70-200 f2.8, 35 1.8, 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 14-30 f4 and a fisheye 8-15. Depending on my needs, I'll swap out the fisheye for a 105 2.8 macro or an extra wide angle 18-35 G lens (I'm looking to trade my 70-200 f2.8E for a 24-120 f4 if anyone is interested...) This bag also have remote camera triggers, profoto flash trigger, blower, light meter, extra batteries, charger and a laptop.

Think Tank Airport Intl V2 is for video related gear; atomos ninja V (which now is basically a glorified monitor now that it doesn't recognize SSDs..), variable NDs, cam mounted boom mics, lav mic, camera cage for Z9, and a shoulder rig that's been broken down.

I then have a smaller Lowepro bag with audio gear only (for music) though sometimes I use it for video as well; zoom h6 recorder, condenser mic, dynamic mic, Audient audio interface, mic cords. Another bag with 2 50 ft stingers, 2 25 3 outlet extensions, and 2 strips. Then I keep an extra bag in my car for things I sometimes forget, like an extra AC cord that works with profoto D2s and my tethering monitor, clamp for seamless, gaff tape, bandages, gloves and most importantly snacks in case I have to skip a meal on a job.

I keep my cameras on a shelf in my office bookshelf and the lenses on a shelf right below. The camera bag at in the office closet and I only put gear in them when I’m heading out. I also have the Think Tank see through accessory pouches that already have my spare batteries and cards in them. I have all my filters in a filter pouch as well. When it’s time to go I just grab a bag, a camera, whatever lenses I need, the battery and filter pouches, and off I go. It only takes a couple of minutes.

I keep most of my equipment in hard cases, naturally in Nikon yellow. 😂
The hardcases are sealed and completely dustproof.
However, I always have a small backpack packed with a camera body and at least one lens, ready to go at any time, or even a body with an attached lens lying open and within easy reach.

The equipment not currently in urgent use is then stored in this cube-shaped cabinet.
Camera bags, backpacks, and accessories such as filters, tripods, tripod heads, nodal adapters, etc., are also kept there.

I lined the hard cases with plenty of silica gel.
Contrary to what you see in the pictures, these have since been replaced by several Wisedry Reusable Desiccant 200g Colorful Silica Gel Moisture Absorbers.

The advantage of this solution is that, in the context of the rest of the room's furnishings, it also has a high WAF factor.

The downside of this solution is that there's still plenty of room for additional equipment.
So, a solution that is rather unsuitable for curing GAS attacks.

Unfortunately, the two Nanuk cases are no longer completely sufficient.
Meanwhile, a Tenba Cineluxe V2 Shoulder Bag 16 has been added and is also quite full.
If my small backpacks aren't enough, then this is my absolute favorite bag for equipment, due to the fast Doctor Bag Style Opening.
If not already attached to my Z6 or Z8, my most frequently used lenses are located there, lenses such as the Z 24-120mm f/4 S, Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena, Canon FD 85mm f/1.2 L, Thypoch 28mm f/1.4 Asph. Z or the Voigtlander 35mm f/2 Apo Lanthar Z.

Apart from that, there is also a Tenba Transport Air Case Attache 2520w (trolley) full of manual focus vintage lenses and vintage bodys: Canon FD, Mamiya 645, M42, Nikon F.

If you have drawers, you can go to The Container Store (or similar) and purchase dividers for your drawers. If you have to put them into a closet and padded nylon case is lightweight and keeps everything safe from dust and environmental issues. I have used the Vanguard Cases for storage and travel. (DIVIDER BAG 46 Soft Sided Camera Bag). I have custom built cabinets to house my gear out of sight and out of dust. larger gear goes in the taller cabinets.

Everything is in a dry cabinet, living in Singapore. I try not to accumulate more gear than I carry but recently I failed. I have a shoulder bag that can fit my 2z8 with plena and 35mm plus my a7r5 with 14mm Gm. I can clip my zve1 with 24mm Gm onto the strap. But no space for my remaining 50mm f1.2 Gm and sigma 85mm f1.4

Soft sided ICUs that just go into a cubby hole. Everything is in my office which is the one place in the house where my wife will tolerate a mess. I am not going to post pictures because it is going to be embarassing. Just one of those yellow pelican cases cost more than all my ICUs and Ikea cubby hole combined

My current rig is scattered all over my computer table. The rest of my gear is stored in different places in the house.
