Offered is a WERRA 1 camera, made in East Germany, ca. 1963. The WERRA cameras were very well made but extremely “simplistic” in operation with zone focusing and two unique features: The film is advanced by turning the lens ring closest to the body less than ¼ turn; and the entire lens is covered by the sunshade and a screw-in lens cap. When the sunshade is reversed it works in normal fashion. The lens is a Carl Zeiss Jena, Tessar, 50mm, f2.8 and the top shutter speed is 1/750th of a second. I have examined the lens by shining a light from each end of the wide-open shutter. There are two small inclusions, but I can’t see any fungus or separation. The shutter speeds sound very accurate to my ear (not film tested) except for one second which seems long. The camera comes with a “never ready” case which is in very good condition except that the leather shoulder strap is broken. There are instructional videos online about how to operate this camera. PayPal and shipping within CONUS are included.
