p.1 #1 · Fall/Winter wildlife and scenes in Central Florida
I'll just say it... Florida seasons are weird.
It's like we get two Falls, first Fall where you just get your first cold snap around Halloween, then most, but not all of the flowers go away, most things are still green, the odd Maple will drop leaves, then winter, and still a lot of green, then another Fall where the leaves drop off the oaks AFTER winter, right before spring and the new bud's push them out and pollen is so thick you can write your name on your car in the green layer. It's supposed to be spring, but leaves are everywhere... Then we get the inch worms hanging from their threads out of the oaks for you to face-plant into as you ride your bike etc. It's just... odd for this ex-yank.
So with that being said, here are some pic's documenting for what passes for some kind of Fall/Winter in my part of the world, heh.

Nice set Eric. Similar for me as an ex-yank (if that counts Indiana natives) moving out to northern California. We have alternating weird seasons, none of which include snow, which was the goal of our move, lol

Lovely set showing the seasons in the south 😀 I am experiencing the season change for the first time ever. Coming from south Louisiana to north Georgia Mountains is an eye opener for me .

Lovely images Eric. You left out the other odd seasons, the first one starts in April where it is only present out when the sun is low in the sky. Then there is that other season where it's never pleasant outside. Around here, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Dress properly and you are cozy except for possibly 2 weeks of the summer. In Florida, you can take all your clothing off and it's still too darn hot outside and it's also way too humid so you can't cool off by sweating as it does not evaporate. I do enjoy seeing Santa in shorts!

great set of pictures, eric. i have found that we often complain the loudest and most over things we have no control over. it is less stressful to adapt and live with the weather the best you can. if you can't adapt, your only real choice is to relocate and that isn't always the best choice. i like pics #3 and #5; however, they are all good.

Thanks Mark! Yeah, I should be used to it by now, moved here in 1981... I go visit family up there in winter now and again, it helps remind me I made the right choice, heh. So I'm staying put, no more snow for me either.

Thanks John, he was a big sucker too, over 10ft, I'm surprised parks and rec hadn't removed him yet, they usually don't like them that big in a public park... gave me the side-eye as he passed me too.

Yet, my knuckles still flare up even down here when it gets cold from an old frostbite injury up north. I'll never forget, I dumped my dirt bike crossing a stream, went through the ice, it wasn't deep, but enough to get wet. Walked the bike home (wouldn't start) in soaking wet clothes. My mom was running water over my hands and I was screaming at her that it was too hot, she said that was the cold tap and she hadn't even turned on the hot yet. I was a miserable puppy for a while... Today woke up to low 30's... warming up to the mid 50's this afternoon. That's plenty cold for me these days.
