January 24 is National Beer Can Appreciation Day.

January 25 is the anniversary of the Blizzard of '78 (I remember that event not so fondly but that's a story for another day) and we are expecting 8-12 inches of snow for the weekend.

In honor of both of these events, I think this beer can with sort of a snowy setting might be an appropriate submission.

Local favorite, Larry? We've gotten only about 2.5 in. here, I think the wind is blowing it away. I did have a 12 in. drift at the house and garage though! Hope you come out alright too!

Thanks for stopping in Douglas.
I really have no idea if this is a local favorite or not. Sorry. I can say that I've not seen any advertisements for it though. But then again...I don't get out much.

I just came in from running the snow blower up and down the driveway. It's been snowing since about 5pm yesterday. Looks to me like we've gotten about 9-10 inches (8-12 forecast). Very fluffy and easy to disperse. I think it's supposed to be all done snowing within the next couple of hours. Next comes the wind (blowing and drifting) and -20 degree wind chills by morning. High temperatures are not supposed to get out of the single digits until maybe next weekend. Still nothing like '78.

We got 8" and about an inch of ice on top! Brutally cold! Sub freezing temps for the last 2 weeks and the coldest December on record. January has been equally as cold but we did have some days with normal above freezing temps.

There is a "bomb cyclone" , bombogenesis, headed to the East Coast this weekend.
Again superb photography "LB"!

Thanks for stopping in Dan.

Walking the children in nearly a foot of snow is no treat. Especially after it has been continuously sauteed in brutally cold temperatures for several days. And no end in sight!
Perhaps this will be what causes my ticker to give up.

Understand totally Larry! My "kids"-girls, except "Rocky", loved the snow! Lily loved to lay on top of the crusted snow shelf and snooze. Abby would just romp all over the yard! She would pester "dad" to trow snowballs for her to fetch and Lily would have me throw snowballs that she caught in the air then ATE!

A part of my soul was lost when they left.

Let me go check your request brother!

A "bombageddon" is to hit the Carolinas and New England and pass us by that goodness! Temps are 20's or under for the day's high temp. No relief in sight for a week or more.
