This is the VR I, the original pro telephoto that set the standard for wedding, sports, and portrait photographers everywhere. Purchased new in March 2006 and used carefully for nearly 20 years � always stored in the included Nikon padded case when not mounted.

I'm the original owner. Selling only because I've moved to Z-mount glass.

WHY THIS LENS STILL MATTERS IN 2026:
The VR I remains optically excellent and mechanically bulletproof. While newer versions exist, this original workhorse delivers the same gorgeous f/2.8 bokeh, tack-sharp corner-to-corner performance, and legendary Nikon color rendering that made it famous. The AF-S motor is fast and quiet, VR gives you 3 stops of stabilization, and the build quality is pure pro-grade metal and glass.

WHAT YOU'RE GETTING:
This is the VR I (original version, 2005-2012) that covered 70-200mm on both FX and DX bodies. Works perfectly with D7000 series and up, all FX bodies (D600, D610, D750, D780, D800, D850, etc.), and any body with a built-in AF motor.

NOTE: Tripod collar foot is currently missing. Aftermarket replacements are inexpensive ($15-20 on Amazon). If I locate the original Nikon foot, I'll send it to the buyer at no charge.
