hello, everyone. i have not posted in a long time. 2025 was a long stressful year for me. 2026 is looking alot better. i recently was out at one of the places where i usually see sandhill cranes. we have had a dry fall and winter. there finally was enough rain so there was water to attract them better. i was taking some pictures of the sandhills as they were flying in and noticed something that really stood out from them. it was a single whooping crane. this was the first one i had seen in about three years. they are special birds to see as well as get pictures of. one thing i have noticed from the few times i have seen whooping cranes is the very noticeable leg bands they all have. it was a thrill to see one of them again. enjoy the pictures.
