After many years of owning the 35 zm and selling my lux 35 fle, it once again showed me its still the best 35 on the m11.
Went snowmobiling this weekend and took the 35 and m11 out for the first time in a while. Recently been hung up on the 50. Needless to say after processing some of the i.ages and seeing the detail and results, it validates my decision to keep it instead of the lux.
I agree. I have several 35s including the FLE II and the LLL 35 AA. I thought I might sell my Zeiss but finding it difficult to let it go. I love its rendering and wide open sharpness. I may end up parting with the new LLL 35 AA instead.
I love the ZM 35/1.4 so much that I repurchased a previous copy I sold. Now use it adapted on my z8. It's one of my all time favorite lenses that puts a smile on my face each time I shoot with it. Its magic.

How is it adapted to the Z8?
This seems like the perfect lens for me aside from it's size and weight. On an M that would be bothersome to me, but on my Z6III it might not be a big deal. Any downsides to using it on the Z8?

I believe that you can put a corrective lens on the front and shoulder perform well. I tried Bob’s with a similar lens on Sony. It worked well, but at the time, I was wanting to find an AF option… I already had the ZE 35/1.4 that I loved. Size wise, the ZM is great, and rendering is stellar.
The lens has a pronounced outward field curvature when adapted (worse on Sony vs Z btw) as it was designed for the M sensor. I use a 5m PCX filter on it and it largely mitigates the issue. The rendering is stunning. My copy is well-centered and sharp at any aperture. Totally worth all the trouble adapting and sourcing a pcx.

You can also get a techart tzm-02 and have an af zm 35/1.4. I have a ttartisans adapter and planning to get the techart so i can use af on the two gems (Zm 35/1.4 and ZM 50/1.5 sonnar).
I have a Zf with the techart tzm-02 and the zm 35 1.4. When using autofocus, I must caution that the floating element in the zm gives the tzm-02 a lot of trouble. Manual focus still works like a dream with the green box confirmation, however.
That is good to know. Maybe I'll just stick with the ttartisan.

The only reason keeping me from buying it was its size, I have looked it plenty throughout the years.. Can someone post a picture of it mounted on a M.

See Jack Takahashi's review here: he has some photos of it mounted on several different Leica M bodies:
I have owned this lens several times over the years and really enjoy it. But ultimately, between the size and ergo (stiff focus ring, 1/3 aperture clicks, no tab) and that’s its no friendly on Sony sensor stacks (not the lens fault), I have moved on.
And at times, I have found the rendering a bit harsh for my tastes. Too bad he doesn’t update their ZM like—I’d love a trimmer new version of this. When the ZM 35/1.4 hits, there’s nothing like it.
