Just another typical January day along the coast of California...
PS: I got a new-to-me but OLD generation Sony RX1r camera; a fixed lens, no frills but full-frame 24mp P&S. It has AF and AE but no IBIS. This image was shot on that camera in Mono JPEG mode, though I've tweaked the JPEG mono settings a little to get desired look without a lot of post-processing work. This particular JPEG did however get a slight exposure, levels and gamma adjust due to the harsh lighting, and of course was then cropped to the 16:9 aspect shown. Signature and frame added in PS just because I have those automated there.
where where you; I see a bridge in the far distance.
stay well, tom
Thanks Tom!
No bridge, just coastal mountains off in the background; though you *might* be seeing the Moss Landing Power Plant stacks just above and to the right of the fisherman at the water horizon? This was taken today (January 15th, 2026) at Rio Del Mar beach, just South of the old Cement Boat (or at least what remains of it !)

And here I was thinking B&W photos are better in low light. Shows how much I have to learn...
You can do mono in any light, especially with digital, it just takes a bit of learning on how to process it to an interesting image after coming from color. It’s all about contrast, textures, shapes and tone. Welcome to the B&W forum!
