There are three versions of the Nikkor 24-85mm;
- The first is AF-D: its AF does not work on some DSLR bodies
- The second is AFS that has 67mm filter, optically better than the AF-D version
- Mine is the third and last version, AFS-G with 72mm filter. Optically, it is better than the other two. I have owned all three of these at different times.
