Yep the 70-200 f2.8 II IQ is just OK with the 2X and AF feels a bit sluggish with the A1 II. I would expect the 100-400 f4.5 to be much better.

Thanks for confirming. Looks like 300 is the only lens that produces great result with 2X consistently
