p.1 #1 · Ninja V won't recognize SSD most of the time

I hadn't run into this issue in the past, but for some reason lately I've found that recorder does not recognize my SSDs most of the time.

I am formatting the drive to ExFAT on a mac (running Sequoia 15.6.1), and turn the Ninja V on with the drive mounted as well as after I've turned the recorder on. I have not tried to format the drives on another computer, but I have access to a PC that I might test with to see if it makes a difference.

I'm using Atomos approved Samsung EVO 1TB drives, which worked fine in the past. I can't even get the drives mounted reliably enough to do a firmware update, which it probably needs.

Anyone else having issues with their Ninja V? I've tried it on my Z8, Z6iii and the Z30. Doesn't seem to make a difference which camera it is mounted to.

Unfortunately it ended up being the SATA connector failing (basically a product defect) according to Atomos, and not a formatting issue. They let me know that because they don't have service centers in the US (only in Hong Kong), that the repair and shipping cost for repairing the SATA connector would be about the replacement cost of the unit itself. Considering I used the unit for about a couple dozen shoots at most, I decided not to invest more money into these shoddy products. Thankfully the latest Nikon cameras can do a bit over 2 hours of video negating the need for the Ninja recorders.
