I recently decided to put a foot back into IR photography. This time I am taking a different approach using a full spectrum conversion with a variety of filters. I shot this at Green Cay Wetlands in S. FL.
Recipe? I shoot like my mother used to cook. A dash of this, a dash of that and no measurements involved. I probably shot that with the 590nm filter, then I get a white balance reading, correct the exposure if necessary, and then wing it. Sometimes I swap channels, now and again I use selective color, sometime a dollop of hues & saturation and always throwing a curve. I should probably write some of this stuff down as I am working, essentially I keep dancing until I get something I like. That also means, tossing stuff out after working on it for an hour. Silk purse, sow's ear kinda thing.
This morning I went to a nearby park area and used the 850nm filter for the white foliage effect. This does not require the extensive post that the color images sometimes demand. I think this was brightness and contrast and that was about it.
