There is a 13-page thread with some members posting images, but I have not seen the typical official image thread for this lens and Google does not find one.
Thank you, Ross. Appreciate the link. I wonder if there is enough demand to have the official thread, I have one arriving in a few days. I was hoping to see some shots here on the site.

Many thanks. We are headed to Santa Fe sometime this month, I thought it would be nice to have and then a trip to Spain at the end of the year (if the universe allows it lol). From the reviews online I've stumbled across, it appears to be a winner. Some people think the bokeh is a little more pronounced than say the 24-70 or that a minimum focusing distance at F/2.0, it could be sharper. I'll post some shots when it arrives, do a little testing and see how it goes.
Some pics I've taken with the 28-70 F2 Gm over this year. Phenomenal lens, feels lighter than it actually weights. For a zoom lens, can't complain about the bokeh at all.

It would be a little strange to list the images in a gallery for the 28-70 f/2 and the images to not be taken using the lens. I suppose it could happen...but why take the time to do it. I'm going to believe these were shot with the lens and say thanks again for sharing.

Hatch, I am sure what Jeffrey meant is more like images taken using that lens won't display their full potential and wonderful rendition in small JPG images posted on-line, like here on FM. Call it that "it will get lost in translation".
In addition, IMHO, lens-specific image thread seems to be fallen out of favor, and will loose traction fast, especially, if the lens in particular is an expensive, and more a specialty lens. Less users, less images taken and posted, in other words.

I sold my GM 24-70mm f2.8 II after shooting this lens. The 28-70mm is prime-sharp and what I first noticed was the high level of contrast from the lens. The background blur at 28mm was also great.

If some people are wondering why I specifically need f/2.0: at night it is simply much more comfortable to work with a significantly brighter, cleaner, and less noisy viewfinder image when composing. Autofocus also remains reliable even in very low light. I also use it for Milky Way photography, where fast lenses are essential.
In addition, I do not use it only at night – I also like to isolate subjects and create subject separation during the day. And it is not just about the aperture: the anti-reflection coating is among the best you can currently find. This is a major advantage, especially for night photography.
Overall, this lens is incredibly versatile and suitable for many different types of photography. I sold all my prime lenses in this focal length range and honestly do not miss them at all.
If Sony releases a 16–28mm f/2.0 GM lens, I will be over the moon. At that point, the ultra-wide-angle prime lenses would have to go as well.

Your explanation is exactly why the 28-70mm f2 interests me so much. I probably will keep my primes for when I want every last bit of light or DOF, but for the most part, the 28-70 would allow me to leave my primes at home, and have an updated 240-70 f2.8, since mine is about 3 lens generations old at this point.
I was thinking it would pair really nicely with the Sony 16-35mm f2.8 GM II, but a 16-28mm f2 would work even better 🤞

The lens arrived a little later in the day, I didn't get a chance to test it out so here or some horrible snaps. It's sharp... wide open... I think it's going to be fun to shoot with.
