For Sale: Rare Leica Summilux 35mm f/1.4 Pre-ASPH "11870" with Infinity Lock (painted in Black Paint)

Serial Number: 222xxxx

This lens is in near-mint condition, easily one of the cleanest examples I have seen. The glass is clean and clear. The aperture ring is firm with positive click stops. Rangefinder alignment is spot-on, and focusing is smooth and precise on my M10-R and M10-P.

Uniqueness of this copy: This lens has a measured minimum focus distance of 0.83 meters, compared to the standard 1 meter typically found on Pre ASPH V2 lenses. It is also noticeably sharper in the center than my Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux Steel Rim reissue.

The aperture is free from oil. The lens comes complete with the original Leitz 12504 hood (like new), the original Leitz rear cap, and the original Series VII UV filter. The mint 12504 hood has an all black finish that pairs beautifully with the black chrome lens.

The Pre-ASPH is celebrated for its signature Leica glow. This 1967 "transitional" variant bridges Leica’s design evolution, keeping key elements from the V1 steel rim, such as the infinity lock and the classic 7-element/5-group optical formula, while introducing updates like removing the steel front rim to accommodate the redesigned 12504 hood and switching to Series VII filter compatibility instead of the Steel Rim's E41 filters.

Price: $5850, net to me (I paid significantly more for it). I will cover insured US domestic shipping. Prefer PayPal with no fees. Buy with confidence, I am the site admin.
