Happy New year! I always look forward to this thread. There are so many incredibly talented photographers on this forum. Absolutely stunning images posted 👏I don’t shoot wildlife but enjoy stopping by.

I always look forward to the best of threads.
I decided to cheat and use different shots than the "best of" in the gear forum. Tried to post a variety of species and types of shots.
1. Hummingbird stare down
2. Nesting materials
3. Flycatcher (been trying to get a good shot of this behavior for a while)
4. Cozy pile
5. Reddish in some great light

Karl, I've always looked forward to the year end best of N&W thread. FM has some of the finest NW shooters in the world and the work here (and in the NW forum over the years) confirms this. It's obvious that the brand of equipment used has nothing to do with great results. Thanks for starting this thread and encouraging all of our NW shooters to participate.

Thanks for the thread Karl. I chose to share one photo I think is my best work this year. Titled "Parasitism", where a Norther Parula parent raising and feeding a Brown-headed Cowbird chick. This photo was taken at the moment of the chick fledging.
Happy New Year!!
Sreedhar.
A very interesting image knowing the story of Brown Headed Cowbirds, this really proves the point!
You are welcome and thank you for contributing, I suspect you have more for us later

Hi Karl,
Its that time of year when I stop by to see what if my old friends are still posting and what they are posting. I was delighted but not surprised to see a post from you at the top. And what wonderful photos they are too. Fantastic stuff and I will be back again to see what else arrives over the next few days. Unfortunately I haven't been doing much photography in recent years but still enjoy the photos here on FM.
Cheers,
Martin Good

It’s promising to see each of your interests in wildlife. Thank you and Great images!
I wanted to post some Common Loon chicks but there was only one in the basins I visited last summer, 2025.
