A 200+ year olde original brick house in the downtown city center.
The lamp, the ornate window decor, the cross street reflections...
Dan

Redux..I went back this morning when there was sunlight. Amazin what good light can detect..the "leg lamp" stocking is now more visable as a leg stocking and the undershade is more pronounced.

I've seen a few of those lamps. Somebody fairly close to where I live used to have one in a front window just like the one pictured here. My wife said a hard NO to us getting one. Nice brick work on that house.

So glad it caught my eye Bob! It was about 1000am, cloudy, cold...there was a glow in the widow from a chandelier that caught my eye 1st and as I walked by..voila!
Thanks!

Thanks Brent!
Yes the entire house is beautiful. Frederick, MD's brickwork largely comes from the historic
Frederick Brick Works, Inc., established 1891, making famous "Frederick Reds" used in countless local buildings, though specific craftsmen names are harder to find; early buildings, like Schifferstadt (1758), used stone/local materials, while later 19th/20th-century growth relied heavily on this major local brick supplier for contractors.

The above "color" is what the house really looks like.
Dan

Just a note..this area is famous for it's brick work, stone work, and headstone carving by a Free Man "Boss" Hammond...au natural here.

@Danpbphoto,

I hope you don't mind me sharing this here. I find it fascinating (and love) how this lamp shows up in random locations. This is from a partially vacant building in Loyalton, CA. A lumber town that is past its peak and transitioning to a more tourist economy.

I love the color of that brick and the back story is also interesting. Milwaukee was also well known for a particularly beautiful brick and there are a lot of examples of it around here. It's called Cream City Brick. Check it out.

Love it!

A now American icon coupled with endless reruns - yes, we watched again this year.

If I can digress?

Our daughter ordered said lamp for for her brother's Christmas gift and had it shipped to her grandmother. Grandmother, less than 3 years remarried, knew nothing of this.

The lamp arrived, was removed from the box, her (~new) husband saw it and was furious, thinking it had been a gift from a secret admirer. Needless to say, many urgent phone calls and explaining followed.

It's legend lives on.

Thanks brother!
Photography has opened my mind to providing context to many images I shoot. I was a History major and taught h.s History for 1 year in the public school inner city system in Baltimore. 1 year was all I could tolerate!

I will look up you comment.

Went from 60F to 30F in 4 hours here and 60 mph winds that took down trees on my road. The winds sweep over the mountains and follow the contours of the mountain and direct them directly on me and the valley floor!

Thanks!
Dan

Dan a circular polarized filter will help you break the reflections on the window.

I went back today to do some addtl testing of this window. The sun was pretty bright and the window is partially hit with that cloud filtered light.
