I searched the FM archive and couldn't find I had posted this image before...so here it is. The site is remarkable because as you move left-right the ceiling appears to glow more intensely.
Phenomenal image! Perfect viewpoint, superb processing, excellent toning. Wall hanger!!
Just curious, do you have a color version and if so have you posted it?
Brent
I also am enjoying the color but the b&w "expresses" the "wave action" more. The color looks almost unreal. I know it isn't but it is vibrant and for rock? But that is Mother Nature.
Again a WOW image!

Wonderful capture, Al! Looks like a night-time shot, should one be climbing around there in the dark?

Hey Douglas,
Actually the best time to shoot HOF is between 9-11AM each morning. The ruin is in the shadow of the upper rock and the light reflecting off the surrounding canyon wall is what makes the flaking ceiling look like 'flames'. It's an easy hike in a relatively flat sand wash from the parking lot.
Of course my preference would be the black and white image. Very nice processing to bring a real presence to the scene. I can only imagine what a big print would feel like.

I have a large print on order at the moment. If I remember to do it I'll send you a shot of it.
