Merry Christmas all. My wife and I have been married for 66 years, and I have made my own cards every year (Yes we still have every year). At first the cards were B&W made in my darkroom using Kodak 8"x10" Folding Weight paper. When I switched to digital, the cards were still printed by me, but now in full color. As our mailing list grew, this became very labor intensive and expensive for paper and ink. Our Christmas list has grown to about 250 cards. Now I design the card and upload the file to a commercial print house. I get 250 postcard size, 5.5"x8.5" and have the fronts glossy coated. They are very striking. The card always shows a local scene here on Long Beach Island NJ. This year it is "The Causeway Shack" from the year 2000. This shack was always a cause for excitement when we vacationed here (we now live here year around). After a long journey through the Pine Barrens of NJ, it meant "We are almost there". It was never occupied in my memory (I am 88), and slowly deteriorated. Super Storm Sandy finished it off, there is no trace of it. The wreath is Royalty Free clip art. They are now protected wetlands, and we will never see another shack. The 250 cards and Fedex from California to NJ made the cards 27 cents each!! I have an Excel mailing list that links up to my Label Making Program, so push a button and let the laser printer do it's thing (B&W Labels). Thanks for looking
