A few more weeks and it will be the Winter Olympics Milan! Beautiful compositions here hermano! The vibrant clothing against a stark white snow..

Thank you. Unfortunately, no Olympics for me, but I will be coming to the last World Cup before the Olympics in Nove Mesto Na Morave this weekend. So more biathlon photos soon - I should post some photos from men's race until then.

Always on point with your White Balance
Thanks, although I feel I missed it a bit on at least one of these photos. Luckily the R5 (and R6 I had before) are very good at white balance - usually it only needs reducing by a few hundred K and very slight tint adjustment. Also the cloudy and misty weather helped a lot, even though I prefer sunny weather on the mid morning races.

I really meant on the "telley"Milan. Should have been more clear.
I am sure this was much more enjoyable without all the crowds.

Milan I always enjoy your Biathlon and other sports shots and these don't disappoint.
Thank you. More will be coming in the following days, especially from World Cup in Nove Mesto na Morave this upcoming weekend. This will be my last chance to see some top athletes before they retire, so hopefully I'll be able to capture some nice photos.

Thank you. Was there to shoot Bighorn sheep with the 100-500, but ended up shooting some tight landscapes with it, instead.
With the environment you have captured in this narrow frame, narrow really allows you to absorb the beautiful scene. That 1 red rock right in the middle is "rock-solid" sorry for the pun!

I posted this over in the EF lens thread, but I think it qualifies for this one too. (Really, I'm not farming for likes!)
I'm almost embarrassed to share this after Lemmy's amazing BIF shots, but this was the best opportunity I found in a quick walk about the local county park today. We suburban dwellers don't always have such easy access to wildlife opportunities, haha.

Stan, that one is just spectacular!!
Thank you. I know, I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but hear me out. Here we are with an aurora of KP 8 magnitude. The biggest solar storm since 2003. Nobody really expected it, but fine, since we're already here and geared up, why not.
Complete bust. Like, clear sky, no aurora, or only a hint. The best place to view it was apparently in Germany or New York or Alabama because it's so strong it went straight past us in Norway. This shot is pretty reflective of all we got, not saying that it's nothing, but it was kind of funny.

I hear you and I see the same thing when use the FM upload feature. It's almost discouraging to post via the FM upload feature due to the downsized little 1MB files that look very soft compared to the full res images posted by others that are linked from different hosts. There's a night and day difference to how they look on a nice display. I feel like all my images look like soft little thumbnails after they're uploaded here, so you are not alone.
