For family (and business) travels, I'm finding the 6700, Sigma 10-18/2.8, Zony 24/1.8, and Tamron 35-100/2.8 to be just about perfect. Decently small and light, only needs a little bag, perfectly capable of keeping up with the little ones in the family, which, photographically, is my goal, and I don't sweat it if I'm forced to check it or stow it in a locker for some event.
