@chez mentioned this Quebec-based print company a year ago for dye sublimation printing. It has been a very busy year and I haven't got around to making some prints for my home but I intend to in the near future. I also want to update my web site info just in case I get an order here and there.
My questions are for Chez and anybody else who has used this company in the last few years (I say the last few years only because their processes and technologies may have changed).
Q1) The FAQ mentions White Gloss and Silver Gloss metal printing but when I go into the design/submit process, I only see White Gloss (no options). Is White Gloss in fact the only option for dye sublimation or are there other options and a different screen for requesting them?
Q2) Has anybody done a comparison of Pictorem's optional Image Amplify service (image resolution optimization) vs Lightroom's Super Resolution? Is there a noticeable difference/benefit to paying for Pictorem's Amplify service or is LR's SR just as good?
Q3) Are they still custom sizes but only "to the inch" or truly custom? That is, if one had a 25"x15.4" image, could it be printed at 25x15.4 or would it have to be reduced to 25x15 or enlarged/stretched to 25x16?
Q4) Is their float mount still wood or is it metal now? It would seem strange for it to be wood when they talk about the print itself being waterproof?
Feel free to answer one/some/all of the questions as able to.
Regarding question 1, I just saw where the options are for metal prints:
Brushed
Smooth White
HD Metal Sublimation
HD Silver Gloss
I can find nothing on their site that differentiates these, so I will hae to talk to them about this. I will ask them about Q3 and Q4 as well (if somebody has a wood mount that is several years old, all good still)?
