This is a great combo! Prior to my 50r crapping out, this combo was my absolute favorite. I've upgraded to the 100sII since and it hasn't been the same. The new features on the 100sII are great but the sensor on the 50r produces much more interesting results than the 100sII in my opinion. For those on the fence, if speed is not your concern, this is a great setup. High ISO performance is stellar too!
What do you mean by "more interesting results"? I'm curious, as I'm trying to decide

From my experience with my 50r, it had more contrast, better color saturation, and the files were not sterile looking. The newer GFX cameras produces very nice clean files which, in my opinion, is a little bit too sterile and lacking in character. With the files being less contrasty and colors not as punchy. Don't get me wrong, the files on the newer GFXs are amazing but I just favor the "look" of the older models more than the newer.
