p.1 #1 · F100 (or F5, F6) with Tamron VC lenses?

I don't know if I belong here. Used to use this forum more back in the day. Just picked up an f100 and was hoping to use it with my tamron 35 and 85 vc lenses.

I saw this thread on a different site and was hopeful they would work. Alas out of the ebay box the f100 doesn't seem to work with them.

Does anyone have experience using the Tamron vc lenses with nikon film bodies and had them work or not?

I was really looking forward to the possibilities these lenses open up with film.

The only film camera that works with the electronic aperture lenses is the F6, unfortunately.

I have the 35 and 85 1.8 di vc versions.

Aperture changing and af work just fine.

Its the VC feature that I don't seem to get. Which is worth enough for me to sell the f100 and consider an f6 for I have just read people getting VR and VC that works on the f100 so I'm just kind of confused about it.

The lenses I am referring to do not have electronic apertures. I can adjust the apertures just fine with the f100.

If we could keep this thread about tamron sp di vc lenses though that would be great.

And specifically about the VC feature.

My mistake. I was told it was the only one that would work with the 200-500E when I bought the F100.

Maybe they were just talking about VR, because that does appear to work with the F6.

I have the F6 and the Tamron 35/1.8 VC, and the lens works well. I can change the aperture and the VC works great. I can't speak to the F100 though. I have the F5, but I haven't tried the Tamron on it, yet.
