p.1 #1Sony A7 Ergonomics
I've been extremely happy with my Sony A7 IV (previously had A7 III and A7R III) but I feel that it falls short in the ergonomics department, specifically the size and shape of the grip (I have small hands).

This made me remember how well my Canon 6D and 1V felt in hand even though they weighed more than the A7 IV. I added the Smallrig baseplate which helped with my pinky not dangling underneath but it's still not ideal.

So, I've been trying to find a way to dig up dimensions of the grip itself but it seems that the overall camera dimensions include the eye cup, too (I guess I can substract a few mm to get effective grip depth). But the height also includes the hump, so that complicates finding the actual size of the grip itself.

A few questions:

1) Any ideas about the best way to compare dimensions of the grips (excluding looking at camerasize.com)?
2) Do other people feel similarly or am I the exception?
3) I really like my small FE lenses, so switching to Canon is a no-go. But I'm eyeing a switch to Nikon and using an adapter. Any Nikon users can comment on the ergonomics of Z6III/Z7II vs A7IV?

p.1 #2Sony A7 Ergonomics
Handgrip is a very personal thing, but I used to have a 6D, too, and for the most part, I still prefer its ergonomics to my A1 and A7RIV. I do not prefer its size.

For large lenses (e.g. Tamron 35-150) I use an earlier version of this adapter, which is taller than the Smallrig: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZW1WVCY/

But I mostly use smaller lenses now and I prefer not to use any plate with those. Best advice I can give is to try different cameras out in a store and marinate on the decision for a while.
