Just look at my samples. If that doesn't tell you anything, then go and live in peace.

And this is on a 26MP sensor - worse on 40MP. But in line with Optical Limits and LensTip.

I wonder if the people who authored all those books were obsessing over what type of processor was in the computer they used when they were writing them?

It’s pretty clear you don’t read the complete post before you post, so I will repeat a key comment: Unfortunately, your samples weren’t done at infinity. Warts show up at distance, especially edges and corners.

Just look at the images and tell us what you see :-) Optical Limits and LensTip testing confirm what you see.

Even Alik Griffin says:

"On the technical side, like sharpness, distortion, CA, etc., this lens is just okay. I think most review sites would give it a B+ or something. However, some of this was by design, and the lens was left less than perfect in favor of “the look”. . . So they say."

and

"The 35mm f1.4 is sharp. Edges and corners are a little softer until about f2.8, but for the most part, it’s a great lens for shooting wide open or stopping down."

As I said, live in peace with whatever you believe about the 35f1.4
