p.1 #1 · Canon R6 III blackout free electronic shooting?
Hi, just wondering if the R6 III (or the V2) does blackout free shooting at 5/20/40 fps in electronic. The R5 II has a special blackout shooting menu setting and I dont know about the R6 III menu. I've seen conflicting reports about this. I note the new Sony a7V can do blackout shooting.

Sadly, I don't think so.
My understanding is that the viewfinder system is essentially the same as the R6 Mark II, which I own. There is no blackout-free mode, although when shooting at H+ with ES the distraction is minimal. (The problem is, I never shoot at those framerates.)
As a still photographer, my one (irrational) hope was that the next R6 model might pick up the viewfinder system from the R3 or something close to it, with HDR and blackout-free shooting. But of course, that wasn't in the cards at this price point.
The resolution bump in the R6 III is nice, but most of the other significant improvements are video-related, so money is not burning a hole in my pocket.
