Has anyone tested this lens for FPS with Sigma lenses?
A friend was told from his friend that he was able to get 30FPS with his Sigma lenses on the A7V.
I'm pretty doubtful of that claim but thought I'd ask if anyone has or could try that and see if it is limited to 15FPS as we'd expect.

As Judge Judy would say, "That is hearsay."
At the price for this camera I would only put Sony lenses on it.

I just tested mine with the Sigma 135mm f1.4 and unfortunately it's 15FPS. Got myself excited for a minute there!
Earlier today, I dropped a Contact Us message to Sony product support asking them to consider removing the arbitrary limit, since there are many lenses without a Sony equivalent...the Sigma 200mm and 300-600 with unlocked FPS would be excellent for me.

Why do you think Sony would do that when it would negatively affect their sales of Sony lenses?

I don't have any expectation that they will. But since no other camera mfr does that (at least that I've heard of), it can't be a huge money-maker for Sony, or the other companies would have copied them and added similar restrictions.
The other companies are restricting what lenses third parties can release in their mounts instead.

I like my Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 too much. For us wedding photographers there’s so much value in 3rd party glass. It’s a type of photography can shoot with zero Sony glass with no downsides.
I'm still waiting for Capture One to support the new Sony A7 V. How long does it take them normally to implement new (successful => so not exotic) cameras?

The FPs and TC restrictions definitely hurt the sales of Sony cameras, and in my case, lenses too.
If I could use the Sigma 300-600mm f4 on Sony with TC's and 30fps, I would definitely be buying another Sony camera, and then picking up a 28-70 f2 to use on my current Sony camera. Currently, though, I would be better off getting a second Z8 to adapt the 300-600 to. So currently I am waiting to see what lenses / cameras companies announce by Spring to decide on gear upgrades. If Nikon puts out the lenses I am looking for before Sony, I can definitely see the majority of my kit returning to Nikon.
Now, how many photographers are in the same boat as me, and how much money Sony may be leaving on the table, I have no idea.
