p.1 #1 · Best firmware for R5 mark II and cold weather

Is there any consensus on the best firmware for the fast drain battery issues with the R5II.

What different firmware from the R5 II's standard firmware would slow the rate of the battery losing power during cold weather?

Of course the firmware does not slow the rate of the battery losing power during cold weather, but it could allow the camera to function at lower power levels. It's pretty well understood than the camera is the issue.

It could change the draw on the battery when not actually taking a picture. It could turn off certain functions at lower temperatures, it could allow the camera to run at lower measured power levels. There does seem to be some variation from the discussions. It also seems questionable as to how good a job it does in actually measuring the battery power level.

Just what we don't need is more software trying to adjust battery power due to temperature changes.

Most manage to try and keep their batteries warmer and change batteries more often in cold weather.

Having worked at sub zero F for over 50 years, this is the first camera I've owned that had an issue.
