pre-ordered this morning.. I so wish it was a 43, but 60MP at least allows for some decent crops. Pricing was choke-worthy for sure.. :/ No info on shipping as of yet.

Almost 90% increase since the original Q.
The original Q was released in 2015 - at the time Leica Camera still made more entry-level focused cheaper camera gear like the M-E camera series and the Summarit-M lens plus the more affordable CL camera line. This all changed around 2020 when Leica stopped the more affordable lines and focused only on luxury brand attributes. Since then price hikes for new Leica gear are seen commonly and are kind of expected - unfortunately for regular consumers.

Yes, Leica wants to be seen as high end (and obviously high margin) and products like the Summarit lenses and the CL/TL2 cameras did not fit that image... so sad...

Nevertheless we need to admit that currently regarding their profits this strategy works. How it works in the longer run by cutting off a more regular consumer base from brand new products remains to be seen. Not the first time that just looking in one direction forced companies to change later. In Leica's case, they will IMO sooner or later merge with Zeiss (who itself also has its homemade problems).
