I bought it today. First Leica for me and first person to buy at the Ginza Leica store. They only had yellow and orange filters. No red yet. Picked up a peak design sling 3 bag for it, at their store. Excited to give it a try.

Congratulations… Japan and South Korea are full of wonderful Monochrom subjects. Great choice and a wonderful playground for your new Leica. I only use an M11 Monochrom and use red and yellow filters for most images, but I’ve recently tried orange and think that it is, for the most part, more flexible. For the few images where you might have preferred the red, you can make the small changes in the image in post to duplicate the red filter while using the orange. Also, I’m always keen to expose so as to capture all sky highlights, or reflective highlights. This results in darker images when viewing on the back screen, but much better results when bringing exposure back in post. I’m a bit of a fan of contrast, so ignoring me might be good advice, but trying it might be of use in certain conditions. Again, congratulations.
I pick up K’s Q3M on Tuesday. It’s ready but that’s the earliest I can get to Sydney. Price +8328USD, which includes all taxes etc. So not great by world standards.
K shoots a Q2M as her main camera and has tens of thousands of frames on it. She also has a Q3 which she shoots side by side with the Q2M. So it’s a no brainer to upgrade for her. I won’t be getting one for me. My Q2M gets light use and my main Q is my Q3-43. If they make a Q3-43M I’m all in.

I would muuuuch rather have a 43M.. but until then, cropping will have to do.

I totally agree. Lots of opportunities for good black and white photos here.
I look forward to trying out the filters and examining the effects. I am a fan of contrast myself. I tend to use B + W 4, rather than 3 in lightroom.
Best deal for the money if you are not just fixated on a Q-based camera but also open to the M-series: a used M 246. A bit of a hidden gem since most focus on the M10M or M11M for monochrome photography, but the M 246 checks all the marks if super high ISO is not absolutely needed (it does very well at 6400). Just my 2 Cents!
I've only taken it out twice so far, mostly for the alleyways of Insadong, Seoul this week, but it has been super fun. I do wish there was a joystick though.
When you hold down the shutter to capture multiple frames, it seems to group them together when you review them. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable this?

The user manual is available for download from Leica's site. On p 139, it describes a "Group Display Mode" that can be turned off.
About to process my first 2 outings' worth of photos. Dxo photolab did not recognize the raw photos, so sticking with lightroom. The lens profile section says using in camera distortion profile. Is it less common for lightroom/dxo to make their own profiles?
Tried watching some videos to see if I needed to consider anything new when editing monochrome only photos but it didn't seem like they were doing anything outside the norm. Any tips?

Q's DNGs contain distortion correction data that post-processors are supposed to be using, instead of roll-your-own profiles. DxO ignores the built-in profiles, which leads to Q's images being wider than what you see in the EVF.
There are a bunch of YT videos that discuss processing monochrome inages.

because I'm certifiably insane, I just snagged the Q3M from Crutchfield - they had one left and I'll have it Thursday. I first called my friend at Leica L.A., but he's out of them and I'd probably have to wait a week or more.
If you've seen my postings on the Leica image thread, you'll know that I shoot lots and lots with my M11M which is my favorite camera of all time. And I will continue to use it because I love using it with 3 particular lenses: 35 APO, 50/1.4 pre asph v2, and 21 SEM.
But there are times at night when I'm just in the mood for easy peezy AF, and 28mm with 60mps to work with is perfect for my night street work.
Yes it's crazy expensive. I guess I'm fully into the YOLO philosophy
