I attended a performance of the Omnium Circus today in Queens, NY. I have fond memories from my childhood of attending circuses, in particular the Ringling Brothers Circus which used to come to Madison Square Garden every Christmas season. This Omnium Circus had no animals or side show as the circuses of my youth, but today I saw the most talented acrobats and clowns you can imagine. It was two magical hours watching them perform incredible physical feats and the clowns doing humorous skits. A fun afternoon with my camera going nonstop. I was able to photograph this clown couple as they mingled with the audience before the performance began.

Good show My grandfather would take me to Ringling at MSG every year in the 60s and we took the kids to the Big Apple. Thanks for the memories.
Your grandfather and my parents must have been talking to one another.) My parents took me to the Ringling Circus every year, from age 6 to about 12. The things that I liked best were the animals and the side show, both no more. I remember vividly the fragrant smell of the animals who were in cages right next to the side show. And the side show had all these wonders/freaks, today considered inappropriate, like the bearded lady, the tattooed man, the Giant of a man, the siamese twins, the fire eater, etc. I was seeing a "bizarre" world I had no knowledge of.
