Before the storms hit the area, I was at the pond and spotted these Hooded Mergansers in a small group swimming around and diving on a hunting spree. I watched as they were missing and diving again, then one came up with a catch, the others wanted to steal it, and the chase began. Enjoy, Chris S.
I think these are great Chris. Wonderful action ! Spotted some of these last week a little bit too far out. I would love to have another crack at them. YGMV.
#3 and #4 capture the action best for me. excellent eye level perspective.
The white plumage on some of the shots appears to be clipped in the chest area. If there is latitude in the raw files to pull it back it may also be helpful to selectively pull down the whites that are not on the birds to allow the eye to linger where the action is.
