p.1 #1 · Samyang announces 24-60mm f/2.8 lens with Schneider-Kreuznach
This lens has been announced, and the Rokinon USA website says that it will be likely shipping in mid November. This is the 2nd collaboration between these 2 companies, after the 14-24mm f/2.8 lens that is also branded as Schneider-Kreuznach x LK Samyang.
Here's the Schneider page on it. They mention that due to trademark, it will be branded as Rokinon in the USA:
I have to say that I'm intrigued for subjective reasons. A mentor of mine came from large format, and he still has his Linhof 4x5 with Schneider lenses, so having this name connected to the development of this lens pulls on my heartstrings. I shoot on an A7R2 with Zeiss 25mm, Sigma 45mm, and Sony 85mm f/1.8. I have gone back and forth with getting a midrange zoom for convenience, usually considering either the Sony 20-70mm f/4, the 24-50mm f/2.8, or the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 G2. This one is officially added to the list, and I think I'll probably be ordering it in the next few weeks. I can't find hardly any information on it, so buying it would be a leap of faith. Plus, the 20-70mm has such a useful range, while the Tamron is already such a proven lens, it is just annoying that it doesn't go as wide as most contemporary phones which are 24mm equivalent on their main camera.

per the review,
Globally if you prefer 24mm and you have max a 33Mpix it will be a very good choice to travel light , otherwise.
Anyway, with the Trump's tariff,
it probably does not make any sense to buy the brand new 24-60 samyang in the USA,
brand new samyang 899, but you can't find any used ones in the market.
On the other hand, you can find used 24-50G, or 20-70G at more reasonable price.
for europe,
24-50G, 20-70G runs around 1100 euros, but the brand new samyang is about 1/2 price of that.
for a7c and a7c2, 24-60 is light enough. wonder if anyone is using this lens to their a7c or a7c2 and how much they like it.

Does anyone have experience with their latest zoom lenses? I'd be interested at the price point, but I am concerned about auto focus.
I have owned a couple of their AF primes - both the Rokinon 45 f/1.8 plastic fantastic and the lovely rendering SY50AFII f/1.4. The latter has a 100% eye AF miss rate in AF-C on the A9iii (the settings are correct - I shoot field sports with it and the 70-200GMii and it works magically) so I am wondering if this is fixed with newer software and/or motor tech.

My spouse has the recently released Samyang 14-24 f/2.8. The AF is very good on the A1. No complaints.
