Allegdly I'll be getting a review copy this or next week.
That F-stoppers seems like the same review copy going round the circuit. One thing I haven't seen at all are interior photos of the film chamber. Really curious how that looks. ASMR of the dials would be good too.

The one I'll be getting is apparently part of a new shipment, so it ought to be a new copy. Will definitely check out the interior and dials for ya.

Nice! I really hope it has frame lines in the VF. The test prototype copies do not. That would be a deal killer for me.

Ooooo... that gives me hope that actual product is on the docks. Thanks!
I'll probably run some high resolving B&W through it first and dev at home. My color lab isn't the quickest.

Mine does it same day - usually in an hour or two if you drop it off when they open. Pauls Photo in Torrance.

Same for you, Otto. Didn't clock that you're both SoCal.
Ha. Yeah I go to La Crescenta a lot more than Torrence
Deukmejian park for a hike and How's It Going To End? coffee is always a good time with a film camera.

Desmo, I'll be in the La Crescenta area with it for a bit before I head to Japan on the 30th, if you want to see it in person.
Very cool! Let's touch base when you have it in hand so maybe planets aligning we can meet up!
One question I have is in the manual zone focus mode, can you set it at in-between settings? The way you can with regular zone focus cameras that do not have AF. Or is it like the Pentax 17 where the AF mechanism (even though it does not have AF!) only allows for the marked settings?

From what I have seen it's actually just like the Pentax 17. But who knows, I'm interpreting others comments here.

I'm also wondering then how the AF works - if it is stepless (doubtful) or just has a handful of zones that it can select from - and if those are the same as the manual zones.
That actually would be pretty easy to test - set it at 2.8 then take a bunch of test shots from min distance to infinity.

Oh c’mon Heinz, spill da beans! What is it like for realz for realz?
Also show an image through the VF so we can see the frame lines.
Initial impressions are very good. Build quality is nice all around (film advance feels a bit flimsy till you get film in the camera, then feels fine).
The automation involved seems smart, not excessive. The top display, for instance, shows focus distance when in AF mode along with aperture and shutter speed. When you've forgotten to advance the film, it shows a little pictograph when you half-press telling you to advance it.
I did have a weird glitch where it didn't read the DX coding on my HP5+, but we'll see if that continues with the next roll.
