Apparently it works 'ok' with a 3v, but much shorter battery life and less responsive.
The reviewer mentioned that. The main things I noticed during the review was the size of the rewind crank, which is much better than any of the other new cameras combined with a real release button, user adjustable ISO settings, +/- 2 EV with an actual knob and decent sized finder. The announced price isn't outrageous and the reviewers images looked good. It could be a winner.

The only thing that I think would make it better is if you could use a cable release, and a hot shoe. It has a flash sync port so that's better than nothing.
It is only $25 more than the ultra lame P17, and about $200 cheaper than the ultra sucky Mint Rollei.
It should be noted that the sample images that Lomo always uses in its advertising are not representative of what their gear can do.
They deliberately use the worst quality images possible - I think to appeal to their target audience who want that lo-fi aesthetic.

Has anyone worked out how the metering will work? It looks like it has a metering window on the top front plate, which would mean no TTL metering. I can live with that, but I would prefer TTL, better still Nikon matrix metering.

Have any of these fixed lens premium p&s cameras had TTL metering? The Nikon 35/28 Ti, Contax T series, Leica Minilux series etc did not. They all had the meter cell on the body.
Even my super spec Rollei QZ 35w does not have ttl metering.

The lens is similar too. 35mm(ish) made out of 5 elements, in no groupings (which would seems to require an aspherical element but who knows). The 32/3.5 on all of those Canon P&S was a triplet.
Sort of wishing I chose the silver in my preorder. I think it has some Zeiss-Ikon style vibes.
This reviewer said Lomography told him the final finish of the camera will be much nicer.

Agreed this is a non issue. I don’t know of any leaf shutter P&S camera with TTL metering. The design challenges of doing so with a leaf shutter are obvious. With a fixed lens they can optimise the coverage of the separate meter cell to give a similar coverage to the lens. TTL metering is nice when using filters but the exposure comp dial is a simple work around.
This looks like the best of the recent P&S cameras. Looking forward to reading the hands on experience from the FM early adopters.

It would have been nice if they put the meter cell within the lens bezel so that it would be under whatever filter is used. No need to manually adjust for filters. My Konica C35EF3s have that. But I think it is because they are fixed lens cameras - lenses that do not retract into the body and do not have AF mechanisms.
Those extra bits that AF p&s cameras have may hinder the placement of the meter cells.

Yes that is what I was concerned about. My Konica C35, yashica 35s and Olympus RC all have the meter cell within the lens bezel making use of filters easy. The exposure compensation dial is an easy workaround provided you remember the filter factor.
So I was out taking pics and some ‘kid’ sees my camera, comments on it then says he wants to buy his sister a camera. What should he buy?
I ask how much does he want to spend?
He says about $500.
I said get her the new Lomo MC-A….
It was interesting that that was my immediate answer. No ‘you could get a Nikon N80 w lens for $100’ or ‘get this Samsung p&s’ or a Nikon FG with lens etc. Even further off my radar are the P17 or Mint Rollei.
As a total camera slut, this in my humble opinion shows what a great job Lomo has done with this camera. Let’s hope the reality matches up!

The fact that it even has a filter thread is already a win. Not easy to find color filters in 30.5mm though, so hopefully they'll offer some themselves (with information on the filter factor). Yellow, red and green pls!

Let's hope they don't buy an LC-A by accident
LC-As are no longer made or in stock. MC-A is the replacement.

Rumors is that 1st batch will ship first week of December.
Second batch of orders after the 1st of the year.
I dunno. They are still taking pre-orders and so I'm wondering if all orders have been pushed back to 2026.
One month difference is not a big deal, unless a pre-Xmas delivery was hoped.

Their initial promise for preorders was shipped before Xmas.

Yeah but is that promise going to be kept? I didn't preorder, I'm waiting for your review. Need one from someone I can trust, not an 'influencer' who will say anythng to keep the test product flow going.
It is sad though that freestyle is closing its retail locations I was going to check it out there in person once they got them in stock - the way I did w the new Rollei 35AF and Lomomatic 110. (Cliff's Notes version - both $ucked).
