This definitely makes me want to add the Pentax 17 to the quiver. Too bad the MC-A keeps shitting the bed. I am still stoked on my Rollei 35AF eBay find. Off to scour eBay for a Pentax 17! 😂

I recently bought a 17 and I’m having lot of fun with it. It’s funny, when it was first announced it seemed interesting to me but not something I really wanted. But the more I thought about it, the more I’ve wanted to get one. My only real criticism is that it’s too easy to accidentally move the mode dial.
I feel the same way about wanting the Pentax 17. The more I think about it the more I want one. Haha. I already have a small half frame canon ee17 which is fully manual.

If the light meter on your EE17 works, then it's not really fully manual, it has a shutter-priority autoexposure mode that works well. You only have to set your desired shutter speed and focus.
The problem is that the light meters on a lot of those EE17s (including mine) stop working due to a corroded wire that requires a rather tedious tear-down of the camera in order to repair.
The advantage of the EE17 over the Pentax is the faster lens, and to my eye the Canon's lens has more character. The main advantage of the Pentax is that it's new and covered by a warranty.
The light meter does not work. The only problem I have with it is multiple exposures occasionally and overlapping exposures.
However, this roll was actually shot through a regular 35mm camera and then I ran it through the Demi ee17 for something different at a car show. Ha
