From the cowgirl shoot I posted a couple days ago, we transitioned to just western-style portraits until the light faded. These are a few of my favorites.

Some great shots, but does she ever smile? Only #2 & 3 have slight smiles. The rest look like she is sad, and she's too beautiful to be sad.
Those taken with low light and the lit lantern were very well done.
Thanks for posting them.
Charley
Appreciate your feedback Charley. She likes her "model pose look" but we did get a few of her smiling. I think she thinks her "model pose" face is a more pensive look but I can see how it looks sorta sad. Here are some of her smiling.

She is a beautiful young woman Scott! Beautiful blue eyes and that jacket is super!!!!
You did her proud in ALL these compositions!
Dan
Thank you Dan! I always value your feedback! She did all the styling and picked the outfit, I'll let her know you liked it! It was a fun little mini shoot we threw together at the last minute!
She does smile! Thanks for posting these too. I love the Western Look and every shot in both posts are great. Thanks for posting them. Both you and her did well in this shoot. I can't pick a favorite, I like them all.

She is a great cowgirl and I say that with the utmost respect! She has that quality about her.
Kudos to both of you! "Yellowstone" missed a great star.
Dan
I must say on my 30" calibrated monitor these are exceptional! Bigger is indeed better!!
If there could be a "poster girl" for a cowgirl..she is it!

Thanks Dan! I think she’d love hearing that! She definitely has that natural “Yellowstone” energy and really embodies that western spirit — strong, confident, and authentic. Everything just clicked creatively that day and her energy and suggestions were great! I’ll be sure to share your kind words with her!

Great work on your part, AP, but I agree, she needs to smile more! I'd even submit to you that you consider some candids of her!
Douglas
Thanks, Douglas! Appreciate that — I agree, she’s got a great smile and I’d love to capture a few more candid moments next time. I think she’s saving those smiles for the next session — good excuse for another shoot!

Great portraits. My pick of photos are where she is not smiling
Sreedhar.
Hi Sreedhar, I love to hear everyone's feedback! Thank you for yours. Yeah - personally I like those too because they have a more commercial look to me as a model posing in a western apparel catalog, but I also like some of the smiling ones too! I guess that's why I took the opportunity to get both for having both those options.

Definitely agree with you. Some of the smiling ones are really good. But as you mentioned, the non-smiling ones (especially the ones not having direct eye contact to the camera) are my favorites. They have the commercial look for sure, and hence my preference.
Sreedhar.
I too like the non smiling shots. I feel like she's saving it for someone special, and we aint it. I kid, but they have a calmness to them and I like the jacket compared to the white shirt. Nice shots all though.
