One of my friends asked me to come shoot some game pictures of her grandson. She has custody and wants his year to be memorable.
I know I still have learning to do, but every game is an opportunity for improvement. The most important thing is that she loves them.
The game started at 5:00 p.m. and transitioned to dark with use of field lights.
All shot with my Nikon Z9 with the 400z 4.5 and Nikon Z9 with the 70-200z 2.8. Constructive criticism welcome.
This is a great example, too, of why one doesn't have to shoot pro or major college sports to capture great images! If someone can do it at this level, it can be done anywhere!

Keep up the great work!
Thank you Scott, much appreciated! Anytime I can get behind my camera at a spots event, no matter what level, I am happy.
@tjbel05 - Excellent photos, Tammy! Your timing was great on these. Good choice of gear, too. That 400/4.5 is such a joy to use, lighter than the 70-200/2.8 and one of the sharpest, fastest focusing lenses I’ve ever used. The 70-200/2.8 is also wildly quick & sharp. I’ve used both together on a double harness and felt so free without a monopod
What size of football field is used at the middle school level?

They play on the same field as the High school.
Thank you! I use the spyder belt, I tried the dual rapid straps but hated the swinging of the bodies.

These are great. I first started shooting pop Warner and little league when learning photography. I really enjoyed that time. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Joel. I appreciate you looking and the feedback.

Great shots. #1 & 5 are my top picks. For this context (pics for a Grandma), they are perfect and tight shots. Grandma would definitely like them printed. Had it been a sports shooting event, more wider shots would have been preferred. Again, they are perfectly done for the need of the day!
